A reminder that before Semester 1 classes start, all UTS Foundation Studies and Diploma students must attend Orientation and Academic Preparation Week, which is held between 5 March to 16 March 2018.
The two weeks cover important things students need to know and do before they start, such as enrolling into classes, receiving their timetable and collecting course material. It's an essential part of their course, ensuring they're settled before they start.
Students also get critical information about the aims of their course, how it's structured and delivered and what's expected of them. Activities during Orientation and Preparation Week help students confidently navigate their academic course, campus, transport and living arrangements. Importantly, these activities support students in making friends and forming networks with other students – a well-known factor for study success.
Academic Orientation information was recently sent to all students commencing in Semester 1 who have satisfied all entry requirements. If one of your commencing students has not received Semester 1 Orientation information, please contact registrar@insearch.edu.au
