English for Research workshop

More than 90 percent of scientific papers today are published in English” *

Today’s academics and students need to master the English language for academic success.  English is the global language of research and, your English level can be an advantage or obstacle to your success.

We've developed a program of workshops designed to enhance the English skills of academics and prospective PhD students. The workshops have been developed by PhD qualified researchers. They understand how the research process works and what you need to know to be successful. They include Emeritus Professor Nicky Solomon, Associate Professor Hermine Scheeres and  Dr. Robert McMurtrie. The workshops are taught by PhD and Cambridge  University CELTA qualified teachers. They are trained language teachers.

* Data compiled by Scott Montgomery in his book Does Science Need a Global Language

  • Writing conference papers, research proposals, journal articles and progress reports of research projects
