Being a student can be hard work some days! But it is not all assignments and deadlines – it is an exciting time to challenge yourself with new experiences, make friends for life, and have a great time creating memories along the way.

Here are a few things to help you settle in, find your way around and make the most of student life beyond the books.

Frequently asked questions

You can collect books and other program materials at the UTS Insearch Bookshop, located next to the Auditorium.

Make sure you pick up your materials before your first class. Just show your student ID card and your timetable to our friendly staff, and they will help you find everything you need.

The bookshop is only open at the beginning of each semester: Monday to Friday during Get Set Week, up until the end of Week 4, and opening hours can vary each semester.

For current opening hours and updates on what books and materials are available, check the UTS Insearch Bookshop Facebook page or email

There are many ways to get to UTS Insearch – depending on where you’re coming from, how much you want to pay, how active you want to be, and how you prefer to travel.

It’s best to avoid driving – especially in Sydney’s busy peak-hour traffic! Most students choose public transport as the quickest, most convenient way to get around. But there are also great walking and cycling paths to enjoy.
