Following a remarkable 20-place leap in last year’s world university rankings, the steady progress of the University of Technology Sydney continues. The QS rankings for 2021 show a seven-place jump to a ranking of 133rd in the world. This is an unbroken record of continuous improvement since 2012.

UTS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Attila Brungs, was delighted by this confirmation of UTS’s growing recognition on the world stage, particularly as reflected by the research and academic reputation indicators. “Australian universities are tracking very well with their research outputs in terms of volume and citation growth,” he said, “But UTS is definitely at the forefront of this growth, alongside other young universities."
