Australian and Indonesian collaboration through CAUSINDY

UTS Insearch is proud to be a Major Sponsor of the Conference for Australian and Indonesian Youth (CAUSINDY) as part of its commitment to encouraging the development of young people around the world, particularly through education and the exchange of ideas and knowledge.

CAUSINDY is a bilateral event held annually, designed to give 30 young leaders from Australia and Indonesia the opportunity to work together in building a stronger relationship between the two countries.

UTS Insearch Managing Director, Alex Murphy, is delighted the organisation is involved with CAUSINDY, encouraging young professionals in Indonesia and Australia to form close ties and increase mutual understanding and respect, for the benefit of both countries.

“I have been very fortunate to have spent three years living in Indonesia while studying, and later teaching English,” says Mr Murphy. “This experience deepened my understanding of the profound value of building strong bilateral relations and enhanced my respect and appreciation for Indonesian culture.

“I have benefited enormously from my experience of living in Jakarta with an Indonesian family in my 20s and continue this commitment by encouraging Indonesian students to study in Australia, and by engaging with the business and diplomatic communities,” he says.

Mr Murphy attended CAUSINDY in 2014 and 2015, helping delegates to develop recommendations to contribute to the ongoing positive exchange between young professionals in both countries.

UTS Insearch Corporate Communications Manager, Kate Dennis, attended the 2017 CAUSINDY in Melbourne, mentoring a team of delegates developing their idea to build collaboration between Australians and Indonesians.

“My group came up with an exciting concept to link the two countries with technology and shared love of coffee culture. Their idea was innovative, scalable and fun, and I really hope we will see their idea KopiCoffee come to life through the delegates' work,” said Ms Dennis.
