UTS Insearch wins 2020 Action Research Award
This award recognises UTS Insearch’s commitment to Action Research in ELT – based not only on its active culture in running Action Research, but also a significant contribution to the industry through conference presentations. Action Research is a practical research methodology developed by Professor Anne Burns, and delivered in partnership with English Australia to promote best practice teaching.
During an award ceremony held on Zoom, the award was presented to UTS Insearch Dean of Studies, Tim Laurence by Cynthia Kralik, chair of English Australia. Also present was Jason West, Director of Studies, ELT, who said, “Congratulations and thanks to all teachers involved in Action Research, and for the Professional Development Culture at UTS Insearch. This is a recognition of your hard work to undertake AR initiatives and contribute to the sector.”
The theme of this year’s conference was Resilience and Reinvention. It was particularly apt at a time when UTS Insearch has swiftly adapted to Remote Learning and invested in the development of a new, cutting-edge English language curriculum despite the disruptions and challenges of COVID-19. The accolade acknowledges that the ELT professionals at UTS Insearch have these qualities in abundance.
