Graduation and Prize Giving Ceremony

The Graduation and Prize Giving Ceremony is for all students who have completed their studies in Semester 1 2017. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to acknowledge their achievements and celebrate with their teachers, classmates and friends as they prepare for the next step in their education.

Other details: If students have a preferred name that they wish to be called by, they must include it in their RSVP for the event.

Students may bring up to two guests to the ceremony. Students must indicate how many guests they will have when they RSVP.

As this is a special occasion, students must dress appropriately (smart casual).

What happens at the ceremony?

Graduating students will be invited onto the stage and congratulated by the Vice-Chancellor of UTS. Those who have been awarded a prize will be presented with a certificate on stage by one of our senior academics. The ceremony is a great opportunity for students to meet academics from UTS:INSEARCH and UTS, and a chance to take photographs with your friends and teachers.

Event proceedings

  • After a student has left the stage, they will need to return to their original seat.
  • At the conclusion of the ceremony, students will be asked to stand as the academic procession leaves the function room. Once the academic procession has exited, UTS:INSEARCH staff will give students directions for exiting the function room.
  • The ceremony is approximately 60-90 minutes long. Remember that many guests are invited to share this occasion with you so it is important that the ceremony commences on time. Refreshments are served after the ceremony in the foyer outside the Function room.
