2SER 11 December - Pathways to university
Cate Fennell is a mature age student from Grenfell, who didn't do any Math or Science in the HSC who has been out of school for five years. She attempted distance learning but found that she needed more one on one support. Cate took advantage of the mining boom at the time and worked as a Mine Safety Officer for 3 years. It was during this time when her interest for engineering grew. That was when she took the leap to UTS:INSEARCH and is now at UTS doing a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical).
