DIPLOMA COURSES

Study Details

The various courses use a range of methods including lectures, tutorials and practical sessions in computer and language laboratories.
Full-time study time varies between the courses. Students take, on average, five subjects per semester over the duration of a course, although the number of subjects can vary from semester to semester and course to course.
The average number of face-to-face teaching hours is 20/week with a maximum of 24/week.
Students are expected to spend an equivalent time studying outside formal class times.

Average Mark (WAM)
All subjects are given a mark out of 100 at the end of each semester. All marks from all your subjects are then added and averaged at the end of your course. This avarage final mark is called an Average Mark (WAM) and it determines your eligibility for entrance to UTS Bachelor's degrees. Most UTS degrees require a WAM of 60 or above (see specific courses for details)
