Duration: Two Semesters (8 months)
Entry to UTS: Applicants who successfully complete the UTS Foundation Studies Program must compete with other non-current school leavers for the offer of a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) at UTS. Students receive a GPA on a 10 point scale on completion of this program. These GPA's are then converted to a nominal ATAR. UTS will then determine whether an offer will be made.
Entry to INSEARCH Diploma: On completion of the UTS Foundation Studies Program, students will be offered a place in an INSEARCH diploma if they meet the 10 point GPA requirements. Click here

Overview


UTS Foundation Studies is designed to prepare students for undergraduate-level study in Australia.  It is a performance-based pathway to INSEARCH higher education diplomas and UTS undergraduate degrees.

In the Accelerated Program (2 semesters/8 months), students choose from six different streams:

  • Business
  • Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Physical Sciences
  • Information Technology
  • Design and Architecture
  • Arts and Social Sciences

Each stream contains two core subjects Academic English and Digital Literacies and three subjects related to the stream (refer to below).  The subjects in each stream are designed to provide the best possible preparation for undergraduate-level study in that area.

MATRICULATING TO UTS


How to apply

Applicants for UTS Autumn semester who complete their Insearch studies by September must apply through UAC. Applicants who complete their Insearch studies in February must lodge a direct application available in August from the Insearch Student Centre.

Applicants for UTS Spring semester must lodge a direct application available in April from the INSEARCH Student Centre. Australian Applicants who successfully complete the UTS Foundation Studies program are eligible to apply for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) in the first year of an undergraduate bachelor degree at UTS. Applicants for a CSP are considered on a competitive basis.

UTS Foundation Studies meets the requirements for Foundation programs which have been registered on CRICOS for delivery in Australia to overseas students providing an academic preparation for seeking entry to first year undergraduate study or its equivalent. - National Standards for Foundation Programs
