Duration:	Each GE level is 100 hours over five weeks

Overview

Focusing on the development of listening and speaking skills of basic English in general contexts, this course prepares you for moving on the Academic English Program (AEP). Students may enter the course from beginner to lower intermediate level.

IELTS and TOEFL test scores act as a guide to place you at the correct level to start your course. If you don't have an IELTS or TOEFL score you will be asked to sit a short placement test on arrival.

Through a range of teaching methods, we emphasise academic skills to make sure you are well prepared for university.

Each General English level runs for one five-week term with 100 hours of face-to-face tuition (20 hours per week). You are expected to spend an additional five hours per week in self-access learning in the INSEARCH Learning Centre, where English language teachers are on hand to help you.
