Overview

UTS Foundation Studies is designed to prepare students for undergraduate-level study in Australia.  It is a performance-based pathway to INSEARCH higher education diplomas and UTS undergraduate degrees.

In the Accelerated Program (2 semesters/8 months), students choose from six different streams:

  • Business
  • Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Physical Sciences
  • Information Technology
  • Design and Architecture
  • Arts and Social Sciences

Each stream contains two core subjects Academic English and Digital Literacies and three subjects related to the stream (refer to below).  The subjects in each stream are designed to provide the best possible preparation for undergraduate-level study in that area.

matriculating to uts
 

International students who successfully complete the UTS Foundation Studies program with the required GPA (Grade Point Average) and grade in Academic English are guaranteed a place in the first year of an undergraduate bachelor degree at UTS. Students who do not achieve the grades required for admission to their UTS undergraduate degree of choice are guaranteed a place in the corresponding INSEARCH higher education diploma provided that they meet the academic and English language admission requirements.

UTS Foundation Studies meets the requirements for Foundation programs which have been registered on CRICOS for delivery in Australia to overseas students providing an academic preparation for seeking entry to first year undergraduate study or its equivalent.
