Overview of diploma of engineering

The Diploma of Engineering provides students with knowledge of the core disciplines of mathematics and physics and is a pathway to the Bachelor of Engineering at UTS. Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Engineering will understand the practical uses for engineering, gain skills from each of the subject areas and will be able to communicate professionally and ethically in engineering environments. Students have the option of starting their engineering specialisations while they are studying at Insearch. The diploma offers a range of electives, for example, a student who is planning to study civil engineering, electrical, chemical, mechatronics or mechanical, can take at least one core subject while at INSEARCH. Graduates of the Diploma of Engineering will have the breadth, depth and complexity of the skills and knowledge needed to be able to plan, manage and review a range of solutions to problems in engineering environments.
WHO SHOULD STUDY THE ACCELERATED PROGRAM?

The Diploma of Engineering is ideal for students who have results below direct entry requirements for the UTS Bachelor of Engineering degree and for those that want to accelerate their study.
Students who gain entry to this course should complete the diploma in eight months.
Note: Students are assumed to have previously successfully studied a calculus-based mathematics course of senior secondary stanard. At enrolment all students will sit a mathematics readiness survey to determine their appropriate mathematics subjects.
