A day in the life of a Design student at UTS:INSEARCH

Grace Tame:
Australia
Diploma of Design (Visual Communication)
- 8:00AM
- On the train on my way to UTS:INSEARCH
- 9:00AM
- My first tutorial of the day is Image Experimentation, which is the making of images - like painting. It's very hands on and you get to apply the skills you learn in theory and put them into practice. The class goes until about 12:30 but I usually grab something from a café for lunch and work through until my next class at 1pm.
- 1:00PM
- Next class is a 'Design Thinking' tutorial. This is by far my favourite class and one I really want to do well in. It's all about the fundamentals and concepts of Design. I like my teacher in this subject, she's very charismatic and engaging.
- 4:30PM
- I normally leave campus and catch the train home from nearby Central. When I get home I'll usually watch some TV and have a break. If I have an assessment due (and normally I do) I'll work on that for the rest of the afternoon.
- 7:30PM
- I'll have dinner, either with my family or friends.
