INSEARCH has been educating students for over twenty years and is an important part of the UTS community. INSEARCH students have access to UTS facilities which enables them to experience university life while studying at INSEARCH. The majority of INSEARCH diploma courses provide up to 48 credit points of advanced standing, which is equivalent to one year of study at UTS.
ENGLISH PROGRAMS
INSEARCH also offers a range of English courses designed to prepare students for study at various levels including:
UTS FOUNDATION STUDIES
UTS Foundation Studies is designed to prepare students for undergraduate-level study in Australia. It is a performance-based pathway to INSEARCH higher education diplomas and UTS undergraduate degrees.
UTS Foundation Studies is offered as an Accelerated Program (2 semesters/8 months) and as a Standard Program (3 semesters/12 months).
Accelerated Program
In the Accelerated Program students choose from nine different streams: Architecture; Arts and Social Sciences; Business; Design; Education; Health Sciences; Information Technology; Law; and Physical Sciences. Each stream contains two core subjects, Academic English and Digital Literacies, and three subjects related to the stream (refer to table below). The subjects in each stream are designed to provide the best possible preparation for undergraduate-level study in that area.
Standard Program
In the Standard Program, students study five common subjects in the first semester: Foundations of Academic English; Applied Mathematics; Australian Studies; Technology and Society; and Academic and Professional Environments. Once completed, students join the Accelerated Program and choose a stream of study
The UTS Foundation Studies program meets the requirements for Foundation Programs which have been registered on CRICOS for delivery in Australia to overseas students providing an academic preparation for seeking entry to first year undergraduate study or its equivalent.
