IELTS seminars prove popular in Indonesia
We take great pleasure in helping set Doan Duyen Anh on her pathway to success.
For many students the IELTS test is a real challenge. The more preparation you can do the better. In February, INSEARCH hosted three IELTS Preparation Seminars in Indonesia in partnership with IDP. The Seminars attracted 1,000 attendees eager to gain useful hints and tips to prepare for their tests.
They came to the right place. The Seminars were presented by David Larbalestier, the INSEARCH Director of Studies and, together with Anna Shymkiw, co-author of the highly successful Study English – IELTS Preparation Resource Book.
INSEARCH and UTS alumni students were present at all three seminars which were held in Jakarta, Semarang and Makassar. The alumni spoke to the audience shared their experiences studying in Australia and were available to speak to anybody interested in studying in Sydney.
The Seminars were about more than just talking. Gramedia, publisher of INSEARCH’s IELTS preparation resources, was present at all events to sell INSEARCH books to attendees at a special discounted price. Lucky draw prizes included INSEARCH books, and an IDP IELTS Preparation course. Attendees were also provided with a show bag containing information about the sponsors as well as co-branded gifts and an IELTS DVD.
It’s no wonder the Seminars are so popular.
INSEARCH is not only the pioneer of the pathway model, but is also the pioneer of providing these free Seminars for IELTS preparers. We have been holding these Seminars around Asia and the Sub-continent since 2006. This was the second time the Seminars were held in Indonesia, a market in which the Study English program (produced in partnership with Australia Network, Australia’s Asia Pacific broadcaster), as well as the IELTS test itself, is becoming increasingly popular.
The IELTS Seminars do more than help attendees succeed at their IELTS tests - they also provide a fun way for students interested in studying abroad to learn about Australia as a study destination while drawing their attention to INSEARCH as a trusted provider of pathways to UTS.
We look forward to many more successful events in 2009. |
